Today's post dates all the way back to CNY (that's how behind I am). I vaguely remember during CNY, there was a day when we didn't need to do any visiting and instead of rotting at home, me and Nel decided to head out and do some cafe-hopping. After some researching, we came across Drury Lane, which was one of the rare cafes still open for business and reviews were quite positive.

It's easy to miss the entrance because it's sandwiched among shophouses which have more prominent signboards than theirs, but just keep your eyes peeled for a bright cheery red door and you should find your way. There are two levels and we decided to sit at the higher level because it was kinda noisy at the ground floor, what's with all the typical coffee-making sounds you can find in a cafe.
Tables are marked by numbers written on a paper cup.
The beauty of this cafe definitely lies in that they are a very no-frills kinda cafe.
No fanciful decorations, just a very simple interior.
My Big Breakfast, which I can't remember how much.
The scrambled egg and sautéed mushrooms are nice, but the other sides are not very memorable.
Nel's Eggs Benedict, which he grumbled a lot about.
Generally, it was nice but because it's hashbrown at the bottom and not muffin, it turned very soggy after a while, and no one likes a soggy hashbrown.
Overall, I wouldn't come back here a second time for brunch because the food here tastes mediocre and I find it not worth the time travelling. I didn't have a chance to try out their cakes menu but have heard good reviews about it. But.. unless someone insists on going for Drury Lane, I won't be going back just for their cakes in the near future.
